Swingworm by 10tons Introduces an Engaging New Way to Play Platformer Games

Dec 8, 2011

TAMPERE, Finland – December 8, 2011 – 10tons Ltd released today Swingworm, an original platformer action game created for touch screen devices. Swingworm is immediately available for iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and webOS devices.

Swingworm is a stretchy caterpillar who is on a quest to reach the top of the tallest tree in the forest. The tree is guarded by the greedy Big Bug who demands a payment of juicy berries for the right to climb up the tree.

Swingworm introduces a completely new control style into the platformer genre. To move Swingworm, the player needs to alternatively grab his tail or head and swing them as far as Swingy’s rubbery body allows. He clings on to surfaces automatically with his teeth and spiked tail.

The game challenges the player to complete the levels as fast as possible. To do this the player needs to navigate Swingworm around obstacles and enemies, ride and pull moving platforms and smash objects in the way. To collect all the three stars from each level, the player needs also some strategy in addition to skill. There are countless of possible routes through the levels and some are better than others.

Swingworm is available immediately for $2.99 from the iTunes App Store as a universal app for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. WebOS version for phones and the TouchPad is also available on the HP App Catalog. Releases for other platforms will soon follow.
