The Symbian^3 version of Sparkle takes the grand prize in game category of Nokia’s Calling All Innovators 2011 competition.

Tampere, Finland – August 29, 2011 –
10tons’ magical orb slinging game Sparkle wins the grand prize in Nokia’s Calling All Innovators competition. The grand prize winners receive 250,000 USD in cash and a sizable marketing push from Nokia worth 1.9 million USD. Sparkle was selected as the game category grand prize winner from among over 800 entries.

“We’d like to thank Nokia once more for the awesome prize,” commented Tero Alatalo, the CEO of 10tons. “The award provides a big boost for an independent game studio like us.”

Sparkle is a highly playable action puzzle game that takes the player on a magical journey into a dark but beautiful fantasy world. The player uses an orb slinger to shoot different colored orbs. The goal is to create chains of three or more similar colored orbs. The gameplay is intuitive and a lot of time was spent in perfecting the playability and controls. Sparkle is spiced up with a magnificent sound track by Jonathan Geer.

In addition to Symbian^3 devices, Sparkle is also available on other desktop and mobile platforms. These include iOS, bada, webOS, PC, and Mac. HD versions are available for iPad and the HP TouchPad. In the near future 10tons is planning to introduce Sparkle for Android devices.
